Marketing & Strategy Intern

My Role

As the Marketing & Strategy Intern, my duties included:

  • Assisted team in the creation of marketing materials including sales collateral, presentations, whitepapers, webinars, training materials, and emails

  • Handled a variety of marketing projects including email, social media, search engine optimization, advertising, coding, and competitive analysis

  • Developed digital campaigns that drive results for the CSC brand, assisted others with brand consistency, and ensured core messaging was aligned

  • Completed a series of digital marketing certifications

  • Created a donation campaign to benefit Faithful Friends Animal Society and served on the Philanthropy Committee

Strategies

I worked to optimize current assets, such as white papers, and create a Social Media Repository to streamline future social media posts. This would allow the MarTech team to have posts prepared so they can maintain their authority as professionals in the business, legal, and financial services. 

 

To keep a competitive edge, I researched our competitors to understand what technology and tools they use and created a spreadsheet that outlined my findings. I also helped with their SEO to ensure they are appearing on the first page of Google and completed HTML coding to ensure their websites are accessible with alt and title tags.

 

One of my biggest projects during my 10-week internship was to create a campaign for the Entity Management department. I decided to focus on the changing landscape of technology and how it affects a company's entity management. My plan was to update outdated resources with an additional paid advertising campaign and a webinar reflecting the new whitepaper.

 

For the Faithful Friends donation drive, we held a donation drive for two weeks to collect items that the animal rescue needed and a week-long 50/50 raffle.

Results & What I Learned

I created a proposal for an Entity Management campaign, a Social Media Repository with 60+ prepared posts with images, hashtags, and captions, a spreadsheet with a competitive analysis of new tools and technology CSC should utilize, in addition to other deliverables and research I completed throughout the internship.

For the Donation Drive, we collected over 30 bags of items and raised $294 which CSC matched leading to a total of $588.

I learned about many marketing fundamentals including SEO, HTML coding, paid advertising, webinars, competitive analysis, social media strategy, while also learning how to maintain a company's brand.
