My Role
I developed a recruitment plan that focused on creating a sense of normalcy for students interested in joining Enactus and serving as an involved member on E-Board. As a team member, I contributed to our presentations and presented during the National Competition for two years of the three years I've been involved in Enactus.
Strategies
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were required to be online which included the activity fair. I tasked myself with trying to create a "normal" activity experience through an online platform. I created flyers that could be emailed to interested students, created a digital poster board, and created talking points so members would stay on brand while pitching Enactus to students.

As a team member, I helped develop our presentations including the talking points and PowerPoint presentations. I often encouraged our team to think of ways to differentiate ourselves from our competition. This often meant watching past winners' videos to understand what winning teams looked like while adding our own flair to our presentation.

During meetings, we would meet with different entrepreneurs and help them develop strategies to solve problems they were facing. In particular, we worked with EcoSoap Bank that had created a way to make soap from barely-used bar soap that would be sold by women in third-world countries. EcoSoap Bank wanted to begin selling their products in the United States, so our team suggested partnering with blog sites and eco-friendly local retailers in Pittsburgh.

I created product suggestions and a social media strategy that would emphasize the mission and how this non-profit aids women in third-world countries. Also, I completed a competitive analysis to understand other competitors in the field.
Results & What I Learned
In the 2019 National Competition, my team's dedication and hard work earned us third place in our category. This was an especially proud moment because there were only three people on our team competing against teams of 20+ students.

I learned more about creative problem solving with recruitment and successful strategies to increase membership. I also developed public speaking skills and teamwork skills through the National Competitions. Below are the presentations for the competitions I participated in which include projects I had the opportunity to work on through Enactus, including EcoSoap Bank and Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
