Phi Sigma Pi
Vice President / Public Relations Chair
content creation ∙ event planning ∙ leadership
My Role
As the Vice President of Phi Sigma Pi, I oversee the executive council, including event planning, budgets, and brainstorming.

As the Public Relations Chair, I created and managed all public relations events and aided in the recruitment events. I also managed our social media presence and website to attract new members as well as keep communication with alumni.
Strategies
Phi Sigma Pi is a gender-inclusive National Honor Fraternity that focuses on three ideals, the tripod, including scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
In order to recruit new members, I decided that we needed to amplify these ideas and put a face to Phi Sigma Pi by featuring all of the brothers. I created a posting schedule including days like "Leadership Spotlight" and "Wear Letters Wednesday" to accomplish these goals. Results as Public Relations Chair included increasing Facebook page reach by 1550% and posting four blog posts to our website on WordPress.

Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my strategy was to maintain normal operations while observing social distancing and University policies. I utilized a similar approach that I used for my social media strategy, which focused on incorporating new voices and ideas. Through my leadership, I helped the Executive Council with online event ideas, maintaining communication with the brotherhood, and additional help with events and projects.
Key Insights & What I Learned
1. The importance of a consistent posting schedule shows that
2. Scheduled posts were well received by the brotherhood and increased fellowship among brothers
3. Maintaining a sense of normalcy was crucial during the pandemic, this included social distanced in-person events and online events to increase inclusivity
4. As a leader, I need to ensure there is clear communication, expectations, and that the work being done by the executive council reflects our values and brotherhood
